Elated by the success of
its previous events, the Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development
(CARD), New Delhi, in association with Uttar Pradesh Government and
ASSOCHAM, is yet again organising Agri Expo 2005. The venue this time
is the city of Nawabs Lucknow, where 75,000 farmers apart from
representatives of both State and Central Governments, including prominent
political bigwigs and entrepreneurs are expected to gather. To be
held from March 12-15 2005, the Expo promises to open up new vistas
for rural development and offers a great business opportunity for
exhibitors to showcase their range of products, services and technologies
to potential buyers. From the latest in biotechnology, fertilisers
and pesticides, to issues of horticulture, floriculture, animal husbandry,
fisheries, dairy, processed food, rural banking, FMCG and research
will also be discussed at length providing the average farmer to grasp
the opportunity at hand. Rural institutions will also be a part of
this extravaganza, not to mention the print and electronic media too.
Daily seminars and quiz shows for farmers have been added to keep
the Expo live and happening. But the main highlight are the film theatres
showcasing films and documentaries related to agriculture and its
allied sectors. Worth a visit!
PUNE BONANZA
Pune city is abuzz with activity, as it gets ready
to host Pune Expo 2005 scheduled to be held from March 10-14, 2005.
The event will be held on the grounds of The Agriculture College and
shall showcase opportunities for brand building and cross-sectoral
industry interactions. Organised by the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce,
Industries and Agriculture, the Expo is expected to witness participation
from nearly 300 exhibitors from all fields and gather around three
lakh visitors. Agriculture, which forms an integral part of the Expo,
featured in an exclusive hall dedicated to it, will display various
prospects of agribusiness and food processing industry. The highlight
of the Expo is an International Pavilion comprising of business desks
of foreign diplomats and bilateral Indian Chambers of Commerce.
